Where to start? Maria and Kollin. Starmoney meets Pinocchio. That’s how it all started at a college theme party. And on a breezy summer day in August 2016 their love story was written in the most beautiful way: their wedding, which adored their free spirits and their traditional roots.
The morning of their wedding Maria got prepared with her girls in the suite of hotel Grothues-Potthoff. Kollin was only some doors down. The girls received little presents: bracelets, bouquets and wreaths. Kollin and his friends drank some shots to calm his nerves. Then they met for the first time. Kollin couldn’t stop smiling of excitement and Maria got already teary only by seeing her future husband standing their. We love these moments and can’t get enough of them. Please, consider taking your photos before the ceremony including a first look. That moment is just for you! Your guest will share every other with you on that day :)
Maria and Kollin decided on a religious ceremony but outside a church. They chose a rustic barn instead. Comfy charm, wooden chairs and old tiling. It worked! Maria’s godchild walked down the aisle followed by the bridal couple and the entourage. The ceremony included several little traditions and symbolic acts like lighting a candle and passing around the rings while friends of the couple played the piano. The highlight were the personal vows, which both wrote to each other. Everyone cried. Married at last. That feeling was expressed by every single word that flooded the room in empathy and love.
For the reception their families prepared little appetizers and there was even an ice cream bar. With pistachio ice cream. Maria’s favorite! The guests cheered at the newlyweds, who danced into the venue and started the feast. Everyone was in high spirits, the couple beamed for joy and love. The food was terrific. It was simply grand!
Between the courses Maria and Kollin eloped with us to take some last portraits during sunset. At an apple orchard. Wow! That sunlight through the trees – 10 minutes of ethereal lighting. These images are now Maria’s favorite.
The opening dance. The two lovebirds cuddled into each other while listening to the song ‘How long will I love you’ by Ellie Goulding. Smiling, at home, timeless. Suddenly a bang! An explosion of gold and silver glitter rained down on them. The air sparkled like millions of stars. Thunderous jubilation and tender kisses. What sweeter way to start a party!
