Not many of you probably know, that we love to photograph short civil ceremonies during midweek. Civil weddings don’t have to be a formal act in an ugly city hall office.
How can you celebrate your civil ceremony so that it doesn’t rank behind a big fat wedding? Choose a ceremony venue with style, that you feel comfortable with. It saves you a lot of time and money for additional decoration. Check with your wedding registrar, if it is possible to exchange personal words, vows or letters during the civil act. That makes every ceremony unique for you and for your family. For a nice dinner and little party afterwards invest in a beautiful location. Avoid dining in a restaurant next to other people, it’s quite impersonal. You don’t need a fancy big party room. But a cozy flair makes a difference. Even your backyard can be a perfect venue for your celebration.
Kathrin and Stephan did just that. They decided on a small wedding. They celebrated it by having a first look before the I Do. And it was a surprise for both of them. The groom was all dressed up with a hat and walking stick. Kathrin looked like an elegant and wild fairy in her dress by Rembo Styling. They got married at the private château Venne, only 500m away from their home. During the ceremony two friends read letters to the couples, which touched all guests to tears. Afterwards they partied in a tent in their very own garden. They rented furniture and a bar to make it look suitable for a perfect wedding. It was an easy-going day with the people they cared most about.
